Rumor: Elder Scrolls 6 Release Window Narrowed Down by Leaker
A leaker has recently hinted that The Elder Scrolls 6 could be aiming for a late 2027 release. This could be disappointing news for fans wanting to play The Elder Scrolls 6, as it means that the game could be a long way from being released, and some gamers still have some hopes that it will be out next year.
The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced with a trailer back in 2018, and not much has been shared about it since then. While TES 6 reportedly entered pre-production in 2018, fully active development only started in 2023 after Starfield’s launch, and the title is not expected to be out earlier than 2026.
Leaker Narrows Down Elder Scrolls 6's Release Window to Late 2027
Prominent leaker eXtas1s has recently claimed that Bethesda could be planning to release The Elder Scrolls 6 in late 2027 in one of his latest videos. While the release window certainly carries an element of speculation to it, eXtas1s argues that Bethesda’s team is fully committed to the development of the game and defends the possible release window. In any case, gamers should take this prediction with a grain of salt, as Bethesda has not yet confirmed a release date, which could be before or after late 2027.
This is not the first time that eXtas1s has talked about The Elder Scrolls 6, but the famous leaker has jumped the gun on the subject recently. Back in February, for example, eXtas1s claimed that Bethesda could offer a glimpse of The Elder Scrolls 6 in July with a new trailer, which did not happen.
Previous rumors of a new The Elder Scrolls 6 trailer surfaced yet again in June, as Jez Corden reported that there was a new internal TES 6 trailer circulating within Bethesda. Corden believed that the trailer could be presented during the Xbox Games Showcase, which, again, did not happen.
Despite these failed predictions, everything points to the development of TES 6 running smoothly during 2025. The Elder Scrolls 6 has been reported to be in a playable state, an important development milestone. While this does not mean that the game is nearly in its finished state, it indicates that at least progress is being made. Hopefully, gamers will discover more about TES 6 soon, including the place where the title will be set or even the game’s full name. While there’s speculation that the game could be set in Hammerfell and Highrock, there’s simply nothing confirming this theory yet.
